8th IIT/FM Conference

Welcome

Welcome to the website for the 8th International Information Integration Theory/Functional Measurement (IIT/FM) Conference, which will be hosted by The George Washington University (GWU) in Washington, DC, USA. The conference is scheduled to be held from Monday, June 12th to Friday, June 16th, 2023.

This website contains detailed information about conference registration, submissions and scheduling, as well as directions & transportation, housing accommodations, and sites & activities in/around Washington, DC. Through the website’s Discussion Forum, you can also find answers to frequently-asked questions (FAQs), learn about IIT/FM developments & activities, contact conference organizers, and generate & join ongoing discussions about these and other topics of interest.

This conference will include approximately 2½ days of scientific presentations and discussions (including breakfast, coffee breaks and lunch on all five days), with the remaining time available for participants to make & renew contacts, engage in more extensive discussions, develop new ideas & collaborations, visit local sites (individually or in groups), or simply relax.

During the open afternoons and evenings, there will be organized tours, trips and other activities that participants and their guests can sign up for, as well as many other things to see and do in the Washington DC Metro Area, for those who would prefer to visit sites on their own. For these reasons, we encourage participants to consider making their attendance both a conference and a vacation for themselves—and, if they wish, for their families.

As for next steps, we ask that everyone interested in conducting, following or supporting IIT/FM research first register as an IIT/FM scholar, which can be done through the “IIT/FM Scholar Registration” link on this website. We realize that the uncertainty generated by potential COVID variants may make definite plans for June 2023 difficult at this time. However, it is important for planning purposes to be able to estimate the number of participants and guests who will be attending the conference. Thus, please indicate (with a “yes”, “no”, or “maybe”) at the end of the IIT/FM Scholar Registration section whether you are planning on attending this conference. Similarly, for those considering attending the conference (i.e., “yes” or “maybe”), we ask that you also register for the conference itself using the “8th IIT/FM Conference Registration” link on this website. At the end of this section, you will be able to register others you will be attending the conference with, and indicate any guests who, while not attending the conference, will be joining you in DC. Finally, those who wish to present a talk and/or poster at the conference can submit abstracts for each proposed presentation through the “8th IIT/FM Conference Submissions” link on this website.

We look forward to an engaging, productive and enjoyable conference, and we hope to see you all in Washington, DC!
